Responsibilities

The GE/IDX Billing Application Analyst performs various functions related to the daily system support of the GE/IDX Billing and Accounts Receivable (B/AR) Application and its integrated modules.

As an integral member of the Brigham and Women¿s Physician Organization (BWPO) central system support team, this person participates in all phases of application development, analysis, testing, implementation, and support of system solutions related to the GE/IDX billing management applications. This includes maintenance and management of data dictionaries, application development and enhancements, as well as assisting users with management of daily workflow within the application.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide the principal front line, on-site support to various billing groups and central BWPO IDX B/AR end users, including identification and prioritization of problems, and issue resolution. This includes the documentation and response to all assigned information systems issues, requests, and questions from the BWPO Issues tracking system.

2. Participate in and lead medium to large-scale application projects, including development of project scope, deliverables, and communication plans; including regularly scheduled system upgrade projects and the requisite validation and testing of functionality.

3. Manage and maintain the daily charge interface evaluation and extraction process. This includes analyzing edit error queues and developing solutions to better stream-line the charge entry process.

4. Maintain Claim Form logic for all assigned third party claim forms as well as Form Definition Language (FDL) logic associated with patient statements. This includes assessing requested changes for system functionality and determining the global effect such changes have across all billing groups within the BWPO.

5. Manage and maintain the IDX Billing and Account Receivable system dictionaries, critical to the processing of billing data throughout the system.

6. Perform routine reviews of the registration interface and develop system enhancements to maximize efficient and accurate information flow.

7. Perform assigned tasks associated with the monthly closing cycle of the IDX B/AR application. This includes the coordination and processing of the monthly collection agency filing process.

8. Maintain and create system reports, form letters, and other system features requiring edits on a regular basis.

9. Communicate and coordinate with IDX staff representatives on system issue resolutions for the BWPO.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

¿ Bachelor¿s Degree required, preferably in Information Systems or Healthcare Management
¿ 2-5 years experience in information systems, healthcare management.
¿ 2-5 GE/IDX System Corporation application software experience a plus.
¿ Knowledge of EDI transaction processing desired.
¿ Database design and maintenance experience preferred.
¿ Ability to work with MS Access and Excel.
¿ Experience at an academic medical facility preferred.
