Functional Overview:
The Professional Services team provides consultative services to ChoiceStream clients and works collaboratively across internal functional areas to ensure the successful implementation of ChoiceStream’s site personalization and online advertising products.
Position Summary:
The Technical Team Lead will provide technical leadership to Implementation Consultants and ensure the successful delivery of ChoiceStream’s site personalization and online advertising products. In this hands-on role, he/she will serve as the technical and quality assurance resource for internal colleagues and will have individual responsibility for specific customer projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
• Supervise a team of Implementation Consultants and provide technical direction, identify problems or obstacles to achievement of project deliverables, mediate issues, develop solutions and support implementation of action plans
• Recruit, orient, train and mentor technical team members and provide ongoing performance feedback and guidance on professional development
• Design, implement and refine quality tools and templates to simplify data management, reduce instrumentation errors, ease transition to support team and ensure consistency across projects
• Define solution features and specifications based on customer business requirements that leverage ChoiceStream platform and products
• Understand and gather customer requirements with a focus on technical aspects including performance requirements, capacity planning, network architecture, data collection and recommendation presentation
• Lead technical design and delivery for specific projects through:
• Data Management
• Document data specifications and map customer data to ChoiceStream APIs
• Extract, transform and load customer data according to the ChoiceStream product specifications
• Instrumentation
• Design integration of ChoiceStream’s activity collection code within constraints of customer’s web site UI
• Assist customers with implementation of activity collection code and documentation of instructions
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform any minor custom coding necessary for implementation
• Write and execute quality test plans for each project execution
• Review and approve documentation for ongoing internal and client reference, training and support
• Summarize and articulate findings and proposed solutions to customers
• Partner with product development to ensure customer needs are met for delivery and instrumentation tools as well as product features
Requirements:
The role demands a versatile team player with strong technical experience, interpersonal skills, customer facing comfort and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks and analysis for rapid delivery. Qualifications include:
• 5 to 7 years of professional experience with the requirements gathering, design and build aspects of Internet software implementation and integration
• 1 to 2 years professional experience in a supervisory or technical lead capacity
• Excellent oral/written communication skills, including presentation, facilitation and consultative abilities
• Experience Extracting, Transforming and Loading customer data
• Experience working as a webmaster and building websites
• Experience in a quality assurance leadership role in a software company
• Strong understanding of HTML, Internet architecture, XML web services (REST, XML-RPC, SOAP)
• Prior experience programming in JavaScript as well as familiarity with Java
• Prior experience working in a Linux environment and setting up servers with Apache or Tomcat
• Prior experience writing SQL statements and working with databases
• Experience with a scripting language such as Perl or Python
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related discipline or equivalent work experience
• Experience in the retail or advertising domain or media industry is preferred
• Must be willing to travel to client sites up to 15% of time
