Software Engineering & Development at Adverplex
The business of Adverplex revolves around brilliant people managing extremely complex and dynamic advertising campaigns and requires substantial automation to ensure success. The mission of our software group is to provide a powerful and flexible set of tools to facilitate this activity without presenting barriers to business innovation in every aspect of SEM. We have built a mature set of tools to meet this challenge. However, the fast-changing landscape of SEM demands continuous innovation, so there’s no shortage of interesting software projects.
We have a small, but highly agile development team. There is no distinction between architects and software engineers at Adverplex. Every engineer we hire must be strong in software architecture, algorithms and systems design but must also enjoy writing high quality code. Because agile software development requires plenty of communication between developers and users, we also look for engineers with outstanding communication skills and business acumen. Requirements:
* BS or BA in Computer Science (MS is a big plus)
* 2+ years professional programming experience
* Coding fluency in at least two programming languages
* Solid background in relational databases and SQL (MySQL is a plus)
* Experience with several (2+) of the following technical areas:
* Python
* Open source web application development environments such as Ruby on Rails, Pylons, PHP, Drupal, etc.
* Web services protocols such as SOAP
* Application-level network protocols, especially HTTP, SOCKS, SSL
* Graphic design aspects of Web development (CSS, layout, creation of graphical assets.)
Desirable Experience:
* 5+ years professional programming experience
* Experience working with/for tier-1 search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask).
* Experience working with small engineering teams in a highly agile entrepreneurial environment.
