Research Analyst -Industry Exposure Database

Ensure that the IED effectively supports the benchmarking processes that will be used to assess the quality of exposure data in clients' portfolios
Ensure that there is appropriate consistency between aggregate exposure databases and property-specific databases
Develop and enhance databases containing the locations and characteristics of residential, commercial, and industrial properties in different regions of the world
Collect and analyze data pertaining to building characteristics such as size and construction material
Develop economic models for calculating and validating property replacement costs
Use GIS tools to process and analyze spatial data and create presentation-quality maps
Write technical documentation for internal use and distribution to clients
Create and deliver presentations of analysis methods and results to coworkers and senior management
Collaborate with other staff members in dynamic teams to realize project deadlines

Ability to gather, understand, and critically analyze demographic, economic, and/or property-related data and statistics
Familiarity with handling raw data and manipulating large data sets; SQL experience a big plus
Programming experience in a high-level language such as C++ or Fortran a plus
Demonstrated self-directed ability to learn new concepts and skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in economic modeling, risk modeling, and/or GIS a plus
BS degree in a quantitative field such as economics, demographics, statistics, or engineering. MS preferred
