Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay seeks Youth and Volunteer Enrollment & Match Specialists. This position requires you to assess potential volunteers, enroll families and youth, and make quality new "matches." Enrollment Specialists conduct thorough youth and parent/guardian interviews in the family's home, communicate with additional family service contacts, and use professional judgment to determine eligibility for enrollment. Likewise, Enrollment staff is also tasked with conducting thorough volunteer interviews, reviewing references and criminal background checks, and using professional judgment to determine appropriateness for incoming volunteers. Quality matches are made by thoughtfully selecting a match between an assessed volunteer and a selected pool of youth and facilitating the initial match meeting between the Big and Little and the Little's parent/guardian. The positions require flexible daytime, evening, and some weekend hours. You will primarily work from our Boston office with travel in the communities and neighborhoods in our service territory.
Qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of social services, human resources, volunteer management, or related experience. Background in interviewing or psychology a plus. Experience working with both child and adult populations. Assessment, intake, and interview experience. Bilingual Spanish-English skills a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Must have car and valid driver's license. Criminal background checks are part of hiring process.
