Somerville Mental Health, now strengthening the community with Riverside Community Care, is looking for a Community Support Worker. Great opportunity for students or others considering an advanced degree in behavioral health. Candidate will provide in-home and community-based direct service outreach to consumers who have difficulties accessing needed medical care or other supports. Assess needs to support independent living, plan and participate in skill-building activities to develop self-advocacy, assist in linking consumers to appropriate community services, develop treatment plans, and provide transportation within the local area.
Position offers orientation, training, peer support, and supervision. Must be willing to have a flexible work schedule including some evening hours.
Qualifications:
Some post-secondary education required. Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred. Flexible hours and the ability to work both independently and in a team are required. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for local travel. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
