The Gay Men's Domestic Violence Project assists and supports victims and survivors of domestic violence, focusing on the GLBTQ community, to bring about responsive public policy, and to increase access to culturally competent services.

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Client Services manages all activities of the Client Services Department, and supervises all client services staff.

Major Responsibilities include:

Program Management

*Manage all activities of Client Services Department.
*Manage advocate staff, client service volunteers, and residential safe home.
*Develop program policies, develop standards of practice, and prepare government/contract reports.
*Train and provide ongoing education opportunities to Client Services staff & volunteers.

Supervise Direct Client Services

*On-call, 24-hour hotline rotation, providing emotional support, crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management.
*Supportive case management of residential safe home clients, as well as community-based domestic violence clients and sexual assault clients
*Employment, housing, and legal advocacy.

Community Relations

*Participate in meetings and extensive networking with domestic violence community.
*Collaborate with Education Department to increase awareness and utilization of services.
*Maintain relationships with GMDVP's network of resources for clients.

Administrative Duties

*Provide general assistance to Executive Director, including records maintenance, staff management, and grant/contract compliance and application preparation.
*Manage Client Services database.
*Conduct outreach to advertise services.
*Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge of GLBTQ issues, sensitivity to diversity issues and demonstrated project leadership is required. Clinical experience, victim service experience, counseling experience and supervisory experience is required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Advanced degree or relevant professional/life experience required. Knowledge of domestic violence or relevant work experience required.
