We are searching for energetic, dedicated program staff to work directly with children and young adults with neurological disorders (Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Disabilities, Seizure Disorders) during a Sunday afternoon swimming and music/art program. Other activities focus on games, socialization and social skill building activities. Programs will take place at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Newton, MA from 1-4:00pm (staff time is from 12:30-4:30pm).
Sundays from October, 2009 through September, 2010 (dates subject to change).
October 18, 25, 2009; November 8, 15, 22, 2009; December 6, 13, 2009; January 10, 24, 31, 2010; February 7, 2010; March 7, 14, 21, 28, 2010; April 11, 2010; May 16, 23, 2010; June 6, 13, 27, 2010; July 11, 18, 25, 2010; August 8, 15, 22, 29, 2010; September 12, 26, 2010.
Hourly salary range is $13-$16/hour.

Essential Job Functions:
• Responsibilities include swimming with participants
• Assisting with personal care needs
• Supporting children to participate in art, music and recreational activities.
• Program staff will provide a 1:1 ratio with participants in the pool (there is a lifeguard on-site at all times) and a 1:3 ratio during art and music activities.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Ability to pass CORI background check
• Attendance at required staff training
• CPR/First Aid Trained: We can provide this through JF&CS.
• Experience working or volunteering with children with disabilities preferred, but applicants wanting to learn more about the field are welcome
