Paid Internship In Lexington Gallery
26 year old Lexington gallery specializing in Contemporary Realism seeks part-time gallery assistant with a History of Art background, graphic design experience, Studio art, sales, as well as interest in the gallery business.
Job starts in December and only if requested, applicants should be able to come for an interview starting the last week in November.
No european applications, no out of state applications or those farther than a reasonable driving distance from the gallery location.
Gallery not in Lexington center, some accessibility to public transit, but ability to drive to and from gallery would be best.
Gallery Hours are Wed- Sat 10am - 5pm. During shows Sunday 2-6pm. Position is for 1x - 3x a week
Learn many phases of the gallery business, pertinent to many small businesses: sales, client interaction, prioritizing, curatorial design on shows, brochure design, press releases, graphic design posting on various sites etc. There will be receiving of artwork as well as packing and shipping back of artwork, some wall prep and more.
Looking for person with History of Art background as well as graphic design, ability to go directly to print, and web design.
Looking for minimum committment of one year. Need experience in Photoshop,
InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, experience with macs.
Key attributes of applicants: dependabililty, friendliness, courtesy to clients , with an
ability to converse with clients about art, be able to have attention to detail in the office as well as the big picture, be able to work on projects in quiet times and conversely be able to work with tight deadlines in busy times.
