Were you sexually abused as a child at any time between the ages of 7-12 and did you experience depression in the past?
Researchers seek women who were sexually abused in childhood (7-12 years) and who experienced depression in the past to participate in a research study ($70) on emotion and coping at Harvard University.
The study involves two sessions. First you will be invited to complete a series of questionnaires and take part in an interview about your childhood. In the second session, you will be asked to complete further questionnaires and complete a task while your brain waves are recorded through an electroencephalogram (EEG). This procedure is completely safe.
Each session will take up 2.5 hours and you will be reimbursed a total of $70 for your time. Participation times are flexible.
Participants must be
-female with a history of childhood sexual abuse between the ages of 7-12 and have experienced depression in the past
-participants should be between 18-65 years old
-without other experiences of physical abuse in childhood.
-physically healthy, right-handed, and have no history of head injury.
Participants currently taking anti-depressant medications are not eligible for this study.
