Afternoon Floating Preschool Teacher position now available from 12PM to 6PM. This position is in a program that serves children 2.9 to 5 years and has one after school classroom serving children 5 to 7. Teachers are responsible for creating a safe and nurturing learning environment, and implementing age appropriate activities. Teachers need to be effective supports and resources for parents. This is a Head Start program and an NAEYC accredited center, and it is part of a larger non-profit community based organization.
Applicants must be EEC Teacher Certified. Preference given to candidates with an Associates degree. Must be mature, kind, responsible, and have a keen understanding for the needs of young children. The person who will best fill this position must be a strong team player, have sensitivity to poverty as a complex issue, cultural awareness, reliable, trustworthy, energetic, and good communication skills. Second language in Spanish or Mandarin in particular a plus.
