Charlestown Nursery School (CNS) is looking for a part-time Pre-School teacher to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
We are a unique, new cooperative and early childhood resource center. We offer:

We are searching for an early childhood educator who believes the following:
*Children are capable of great scientific, artistic and linguistic exploration and expression
*Curriculum and instruction should emerge out of the rich interests and experiences of children and their families
*The classroom is an extension of the home, the neighborhood and the world
*Young children can develop important “habits of mind” more commonly associated older students
*Playful early childhood education includes rich intellectual as well as social opportunities
Additional qualifications for positions include:
*Master of Arts degree in education or related field, Ed.M or Ed.D preferred, but other backgrounds considered
* EEC certification is required
*Willingness to work with parents in a cooperative environment
*Intellectual curiosity, energy, compassion, and warmth
Preschool Teachers
Responsibilities for Teachers include:
*Design integrated, stimulating curriculum
*Teach three mornings a week
*Guide and support to parent helpers and university interns
*Meet regularly with director to discuss children’s and families’ needs
*Report on school matters to the Board of Directors at monthly board meetings
*Continue educational and professional growth through courses, workshops, conferences, in-service training, and staff meetings
