Teacher Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum for young children
• Develop activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program
• Develop culturally appropriate program and activities
• Implement positive discipline techniques in the classroom
• Clearly and effectively communicate with children, parents and staff
• Observe children and make note of progress in child-specific portfolios
• Discuss children’s development with parents in bi-annual parent/teacher conferences
• Participate in community activities
• Complete 20+ hours of professional development each year
• Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child’s progress
• Ensure the facility and equipment are clean, well maintained and safe at all times
Requirements
• Bilingual/bi-literate in both English and Spanish
• Associates, Bachelors or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related degree, OR a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a preschool setting (equivalencies will be considered)
• EEC Certified, OR coursework in Child Growth and Development, Preschool Curriculum and/or Behavior Management

- Compensation: $32,000 - $38,000 salary with exceptional benefits
