WHO WE ARE
The Boston Language Institute offers monthly intensive TEFL Certificate Programs (English teacher training) and frequent part-time Saturday programs. We are also the school that pioneered a special TEFL Certificate Program for non-native speakers of English. The Institute has been teaching ESL and foreign languages successfully for nearly 27 years, always stressing authentic and effective communication. The TEFL Certificate Program provides lively, interactive training that will instill in you the principles of teaching the creative, dynamic lessons that have won the Institute’s programs world-wide acclaim.
OUR APPROACH TO TEACHER TRAINING
Our teacher training program is based on an active learning approach, giving our TEFL trainees extensive opportunity to practice what they study. Trainers model the teaching techniques to be mastered. Trainees then undertake skill-building activities, both individually and in small groups, and lead six of their own ESL classes to real ESL students, receiving guidance and feedback from experienced teacher trainers.
We limit class size to 12 trainees for maximum benefit to participants in our program. Our trainers give you personal attention throughout the course and encourage you to develop your own teaching style while mastering the essential skills of teaching ESL/EFL.
COURSE LENGTH AND TIMES
The full-time, four-week TEFL Certificate Program meets Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for a total of 120 hours of instruction.
Part-time programs meet on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for 12 weeks.
Courses for non-native speakers are offered several times a year. Both part-time and full-time classes are offered.
The cost of The Boston Language Institute TEFL Certificate Program is $2,645. This includes the application fee, tuition and all materials. Join our 4-week full-time March, April or May 2008 program and take $400 off the tuition!
