Two months ago i visited CLUB MED in haiti or haity, i was invited, i asked my friend to take me to "port principe" by the way english is not my first language, i am from Uruguay, the country more stable right now in the whole america.... I met Louis, a haitian painter looking for money to feed the family: that what he told me and i beleived him. When i saw the painting i really liked it, because it showed up the reality, i gave him USA $50.00 and i told him i was going to sell it in boston and send him the xtra money,, It is sold already, and i appreciate the I for the Y.. next time if i have the same situation i will post again on craighlist and you can correct me........Hopefully, i wish not to have the same experience because i beleive Haity is more poor than Utiopia and not body pay any attettion just waiting to conect the political situation with the next country DR who still suvive as a have island..............

This was great for me because I could work as I pleased and come and go anytime. It was open 24/7 and was great for all my needs. I currently live in the Boston area, and I am interested in knowing if there was anyone or a group of people interested in started a clay guild here in the Boston area. I have a 1 bedroom to rent in my 3 bedroom apt. The cost per month is $500 + utilities (gas, electric, cable internet-maybe $100-$150 max in cold months coming??? Very cheap when it's not cold out). The apt has a dining room, living room, eat in kitchen, pantry, bathroom and 2 enclosed porches!!! There is off street parking, and free laundry and some storage in basement. Very Spacious.

The room comes with a small area some people use as an OFFICE SPACE. There is also an ARTIST STUDIO shared by all the tenants. Very large spacious and quiet! We would prefer an artist, but we are not being picky because this is a bad time to be looking for a replacement for our Swedish exchange student. Looking for some one reliable, chill, and dependable as far as bills.

We are both working professionals in our early 30's. We are pretty chill, keep the place clean. We do NOT SMOKE, but we do enjoy cocktails. This is not a party house, we mainly go out for that. We are less then 2 block away from the Malden Center stop on the Orange line T. We would like to show the apt ASAP, as I will not be around for the Holidays.

Hey - I am a young artist of many mediums and styles and have been working in Graphic Design for several years. I am extending my talents in hopes for some extra cash for the holidays! - I like to work in prisma colored pencil/marker and paint in acrylic, but can use other mediums. The Japanese Skull was done with colored pencil on thick drawing paper, Angel with pencil on regular paper, the Dragon with marker and pencil on regular paper and the Rose with acrylic on canvas.

I would be willing to sell certian pieces if interested - though would prefer to create something new for you!

I have also worked in graffiti style artwork, old fashion colonial, traditional american, cartoon images, and handcrafted styles of Typography, or lettering.

Thanks again to all who submitted to the first issue of Doom Zine. Besides a few typo's on my part, I think it turned out great! I'm very excited to get started on the second issue. I have been brainstorming a lot of idea's to make this issue different from the first and I have decided on themes. Most people already have a natural theme to their work such as destruction, anatomy, or nature. I am going to ask you to only submit works that go along with a chosen theme.

Images of Words: A Dialogue

From January to September, 2008, sculptor Richard Dorff and painter Lorin Hesse have met weekly for a grand project of discourse through image and word. For 8 months, each, in turn, produced and presented a new piece of artwork weekly. And each, in turn, then responded graphically and orally to the other. An intense iconographic, aesthetic, and verbal dialogue ensued, and it is this combination of languages, marks and remarks, which is the focus of this exhibit.
An interest in formal issues relating to space, pattern, and line is evident throughout the series of physical pieces, as is an emphasis on abstraction, metaphor, and personal exposure through self portraiture. Additionally, a focus on emotion, stream of consciousness word association, memory, and abstract idea is evident in the word choices each artist made for the other�s pieces.
Both artists' sensibilities are exercised in the innovative installation of the exhibit, which merges both a 2-D and 3-D approach. Traditional gallery values are questioned and viewers are invited to consider the words (whose graphic representations in black and white, are applied directly to the walls) as they would have the works themselves. The works, meanwhile, will be shelved and out of immediate view in a specially designed storage area of the installation.
