Classes combine traditional techniques and forms with high-impact target and heavy shield drills. Sparring ranges from no/minimal contact (for beginners/white belts) to controlled full-contact (for red and black belts).

Martial arts training develops our minds as it improves our bodies. By pushing ourselves toward our physical limits, we also strive toward the philosophical aims of Tae Kwon Do: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit!

Our club is open to anyone 14 years of age and older. Anyone should feel welcome to try out our club, regardless of his/her experience or physical fitness level. We strive to take everyone as they are and push them forward. If you come to class able to do one pushup, we�ll ask you to try two. If you can do 100, we�ll ask you to do one more. In this way, we all learn never to stop improving ourselves mentally and physically.

Over the years, we've found that this level of training isn't for everyone. Thus, we offer 1 month of free classes to all new students before they have to join the club, and pay any dues, or purchase any equipment. That month gives you a chance to get to know our club, and how we train.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first class, well hydrated and wearing athletic-appropriate apparel (t-shirt and sweatpants or something similar).

Female soccer player needed for our indoor team. We play in a 6v6 women's league in Newton that runs on Sundays. Games start mid-November and run for 10 weeks, a second 10 week session begins after that. Cost will be just over $100 per person, games are usually between 9am and 4pm but there will likley be one 7am and one 8am game.

We have a goalie who is willing to play half- or full-time, but it would be great to have someone with experience in the net who is willing to play either half-time or as a back-up keeper. However, even if you're not a keeper, we're definitely looking for one more full-time player.

We are a group of energetic, friendly young professionals - mostly late twenties and early thirties. Most of us played soccer at least in high school, and some in college. We all enjoy playing hard and like to win, but a positive attitude and willingness to be a team player is the most important quality we're looking for in new a team member. We also need someone who can make a commitment to attend most of the games - we try to carry only as many players as we need to field a team with a couple of subs, and want everyone to get a lot of playing time.

Season Two saw many veteran rollergirls hang up their skates, and as our all-star Boston Massacre spins off into a separate team, we need at least 20 new skaters to fill our home team rosters for Season Three. Our coaching staff has trained four classes of freshmeat in Boston and Providence, and we can definitely say that derby success comes through hard work, not necessarily existing athletic skills or extensive roller skating experience. So don't be shy! Potential recruits must be comfortable on roller skates, female, at least 21 years old, and have health insurance.

Freshmeat Open Skate/Clinics
If you're thinking of trying out, we strongly encourage you to come to an open skate/clinic to say hello and start practicing basic skills. A little nervous? Just remember, there are only two things you need to know to get started: skate fast, turn left. We'll help with the rest. Find Dames and refs in their black Boston Derby Dames shirts to say hi or ask questions.

* Skateland, Bradford: Thursday, October 9, 8-10 pm
* Rollerworld, Saugus: Saturday, October 25, 1-3 pm

These take place during regular open skate hours. Skate rentals are available and regular admission fees apply. You do not have to register for tryouts to come to a skate clinic; it's just a chance for you to see if BDD is for you and get some practice time. Need help finding a ride to a skate clinic? I love music and partner dancing especially to romantic ballets. Music like the Amore album by Andrea Bocelli has me spell bound. So many great Rumbas!!!

My bread and butter is in IT. My creative side and joy is largely expressed through dance. For the last 10 years I have taught all forms of dance, performed and put on large events that usually involve dancing.

I am a 6�1� male, 172 lbs with an athletic build.

Once in a while I have a need for a partner when I give a performance and/or a lesson or when going to a social gathering. Nothing too time consuming.

Just questions, not requirements:

Can you perform in front of an audience? Are you in great shape?

Hello, I just moved to Beacon Hill from out of state so I don't know anything about this city yet. I would like to join a gym and I have looked around but want to know if there is any good gyms I am missing that are near beacon hill. I have looked at Boston sports club and beacon hill athletic club but I want something with a little bit more than what they offered. I am looking for something that has a lot of exercise classes to choose from so that I can meet new people.
I did look at Equinox and sports club LA and those were very nice but also have a high price. Are there any other gyms that I am missing? would like something that is walkable from beacon hill.
