Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Accountant

This Property Accountant position reports to the Assistant Controller and performs the following functions:
  • Maintain all aspects of Accounts Payable including coding, posting to A/P system, payment, and filing.
  • Maintain all aspects of Accounts Receivable including posting of cash receipts, bank deposits, posting of miscellaneous charges and adjustments.
  • May maintain various spreadsheets used for utility analysis, cash account balances, etc.
  • Keeps all filing accurate and up-to-date and ensures copies of all support and billing information are kept in the proper files.
  • Communicates with Property Manager when questions arise as to tenant receipts and vendor payments.

    The successful candidate will have experience with computerized data entry, A/P and A/R, and general accounting/bookkeeping procedures. Experience with Yardi property management/accounting software is highly desirable. Familiarity with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook is helpful. This position requires strong attention to detail, timelines and procedures. Successful candidates will have strong organizational and follow-through skills and the ability to follow procedures and systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem solving skills also required. Must be able to work effectively with team members.
