This position requires a highly motivated team player with experience in general accounting and financial analysis, preferably in financial services. The individual must be a mature professional able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in accounting month end close to ensure accurate and timely recording/reporting of financial information; Activities include development of reports, account analyses and reconciliation in the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and/or Financial Reporting area
• Prepare highly complex consolidated financial statements and reports required by the company and external auditors; Present results and business drivers in an easily understood manner to both financial and non-financial senior management
• Responsible for internal control process documentation and process improvements; Prepare FOCUS (regulatory) filing and work with Controller to maintain updated FINRA rules and regulations to ensure that the firm is in constant compliance
• Manage external audits (year end audit, FINRA, 401(k), and other regulatory audit
• Recommend, evaluate and implement new enhanced accounting policies, procedures and processes to ensure adequate and efficient accounting and control for specific accounting functions
• Participate in operating budget
• Respond to changes in priorities related to special projects and assignments quickly and effectively.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting; Masters degree a plus
• CPA required
• At least 5 years experience in the accounting field; prefer mix of public/private
• PC experience in Windows, Excel and Word
