"THE SECRET WORDS" or WHEN ON THE INTERVIEW...HOW TO GET THE JOB!

I teach my candidates "The Secret Words". After spending almost 20 years as an Executive Recruiter I have discovered a method of how the job candidate can significantly increase their probabilities of securing the job they truely want (assuming they're qualified) by using "The Secret Words".

I will teach you how to seperate yourself from the other candidates who you are in competition with for the same position and how you will "shine" and rise above all the others.

I will sit with you for 1 1/2 hrs in the Boston/Cambridge/Brookline area and teach you all I know as well as "The Secret Words". I will give them to you in print...but bring a legal pad with you to write my instructions. By the way, once you give or speak "The Secret Words" to the hiring authority when on the interview, at the right time, you will then have a much, much higher probability of receiving the job offer. Nothing is 100%, I know this, but I have placed many, many people utilizing this method...and this method works a majority of the time. Hmmmmm...Perhaps I should write a book!

50 bucks and you own them for life to be utilized again and again throughout your career or when ever you deem it necessary to make a move. They work for both professional as well as non-professional positions.

Oh, one more thing, I have documented proof that they do work!

David Lowney

We're talking about your employment future as well as your economic and personal happiness. Dosen't it make sense then to use every tool available to increase your chances of getting hired? So, if you really, really want that job which you are about to interview for than I suggest you contact me. I WILL HELP YOU GET IT!

Somewhere at the intersection of Tortoise, Bjork, Steve Reich and StereoLab lies Bitters. The eclectic minimalist pop trio is a tasty and complex musical tonic consisting of : 1 part drums 2 parts keys (wow, a vibraphone!) 1 part voice and a dash of sugar-coated tragedy. At once soothing and jarring, melodic and dissonant, the percussive Bitters is sure to give those ails a stir..
Kitten and Cat Adoption Info Day by Guardian Angels (Especially for Pets, Sudbury)

This Saturday, from 11:30-3:00 at the Union Ave. Especially for Pets, Guardian Angels Cat Rescue will be showing the CUTEST cats and kittens, all of whom are looking for new homes. We will have LOTS of kittens (that are looking to be placed in pairs), and some great adult cats as well. This week, we will have a pair of pure bred Persians that are beautiful and friendly, a Flame Point Siamese gal, a Tortie, and several other "grown" cats, and at least a dozen kittens. All of our animals have been tested, fully vaccinated, and spayed/neutered, and currently live in foster homes.

We are an all rescue cat shelter servicing homeless and stray cats in the Metro West area. All of our volunteers are dedicated to ensuring we find the "right" new home for every kitty, and that YOU go home with the right Kitties for YOUR home.

Not ready to adopt right now, but want to help? Ask us about our Foster Care Program. We provide the food, litter, vet care, and you supply the love and attention in your home to a needy cat/kittens, until a "forever home" is found. Come by Saturday and speak to a Guardian Angels volunteer for more details.

We can only continue our rescue efforts if we place these kitties, so bring a friend, and come make some new friends!!

MIT Communications Forum: The Campaign & the Media, 1

Thursday, Sept. 25, 5-7 p.m.
Bartos Theater, MIT Media Lab
20 Ames Street, Cambridge, MA 02139

How have American news media responded to this historic presidential campaign? Is it true, as many have suggested, that the influence of newspapers and television has declined in the digital era? Have the media become more partisan and polarized? Are they more preoccupied with polls and campaign strategy than with substantive issues? Has the coverage by traditional media been qualitatively different from that by online news sources? In this first of two forums on the campaign and the media, our speakers will offer report cards on the current state of American political journalism.

Speakers

John Carroll is professor of mass communication at Boston University, a radio commentator for WGBH-FM, and a correspondent for WGBH-TV’s Beat the Press, a weekly media review program. Prior to joining the BU faculty, Carroll was the executive producer of Greater Boston, WGBH-TV’s nightly news and public affairs program.

Tom Rosenstiel is director of the Washington-based Project for Excellence in Journalism where he is the editor and principal author of its Annual Report on the State of the News Media. A journalist for more than 20 years, he is a former media critic for the Los Angeles Times and chief congressional correspondent for Newsweek magazine. He is the author with Bill Kovach of The Elements of Journalism: What Newspeople Should Know and the Public Should Expect.

Moderator: Ellen Hume is the research director for the MIT Center for Future Civic Media. She was a White House and political correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, national reporter with the Los Angeles Times and regular commentator on PBS’s Washington Week in Review and CNN’s Reliable Sources.

Free and open to the public.

FEATURE YOUR PRODUCT IN MY NEW RED SOX FILM! (Boston)

I am an award-winning filmmaker from Boston and I'm contacting you because I am producing a new indie film about The Boston Red Sox and I have a product placement opportunity for you.

I can help you expose your product and target the impressionable individuals who buy a great deal of sexy products.

I can offer supreme visibility and the possibility of reaching millions of potential customers by offering product placement in my new film.

This piece will be marketed and emailed to thousands of top decision-makers and hipsters in the entertainment world. I met with a lot of major players at this year's Sundance Film Festival and my distribution list consists of Hollywood's affluent and elite.

OUT FOR BUCKNER, the new indie film from WICKID PISSA FILMS, centers around Red Sox great Bill Buckner. It was featured in THE BOSTON HERALD and it has attracted the attention of George Clooney.

Read the story here - http://bostonherald.com/news/regional/general/view.bg?articleid=1092809

This is the redemptive story of how Bill Buckner rises, phoenix-like, from the ash heap of a doomed baseball miscue to emerge as a resilient ex-athlete, a gamely father-figure, a composed friend, and a plucky theatre performer.

Who needs the Hall of Fame when you've got the chance to lead the Red Sox to their first World Series in 86 years?

My goal with this project is to pose the question: Does one mistake define a life?

I have received a barrage of attention in the press and I plan to take it to film festivals across the country.

There is a built-in demographic of Red Sox and baseball fans who would flock to the theaters to see a movie like this.

I would love to help champion your product and have you involved in my exciting new movie.

Let me know if you are interested.

Best,

Join Boston Cares as we discuss Francis Russell's A City in Terror: Calvin Coolidge and the 1919 Boston Police Strike.

On September 9, 1919, an American nightmare came true. The entire Boston police force deserted their posts in protest stagnant wages, poor working conditions, and a refusal from the Police Commissioner to allow the creation of a police union. The strike left Boston virtually defenseless and made an inconspicuous governor, Calvin Coolidge, famous throughout America, turning him into a national hero and, eventually, a president. It also created a monster. For two days more than 700,000 residents of Boston"s urban core were without police protection, and the mob ruled the streets.

This intriguing book, filled with long the forgotten history of one of the strangest episodes in American labor history is sure to stimulate great conversation over dinner and drinks.

The three most collected Italian wines happen to all
start with the letter B - Barolo, Barbaresco and
Brunello. And within that group, the Barolo is
referred to as the King of Wine, while the
Barbaresco is the Queen. Meanwhile, the Brunello is
the brooding, masculine "Little Dark One" prince - you
get the picture.

With all that aside, let's talk about the wine. Barolo is
an area within Langhe in Piemonte, near Alba.
Nebbiolo, the grape used in Barolo, is like Pinot Noir,
a fussy, difficult to grow varietal that when
vinified
properly and aged accordingly, produces uniquely
perfumed and powerful reds. It holds court with other
Grand Crus of the wine universe. The wine is
haunting
for its aroma and taste.

                    Barbaresco, known as Barolo's younger
sibling, is
similar to Barolo, but not nearly as full-bodied. Its
beauty lies in the elegant, gripping structure
and its
relative value when compared to its more
expensive sibling.

Brunello, from Tuscany and made from a
clone of
Sangiovese, is darker and more tannic than Chianti,
sees more aging and
produces much more rustic and powerful wines
than
typical Tuscan reds. Most recognized of the Killer Bs
because of its Tuscan roots and exposure to
tourists. It's hard to return to simple Chiantis after
acquiring a taste for Brunello.

We have a limited supply of all three styles and offer
them to you at a price not likely to be repeated.
Every
single Killer B wine is 20% off while
supplies last.
Offer is good through Sunday, Sept. 7 and does not
apply to previous or special orders, only to in stock
items. No further discounts apply. For this sale, it is
first come, first served, as we won't be able to
honor
telephone or email orders. Some wines are
severely limited.

This week, we wanted to once again stretch your
palates and bring you wines we haven't uncorked
before - wines that will find their way onto our shelves
this season because they represent what we look for
each week - undervalued wines that over deliver
on
quality. Not easy to do in this economy, but gems
do
turn up, like those we open Friday,

aromas
of tropical fruit and zesty citrus. But it has weight and

2005 Klassen Merlot: Hits all the right buttons
for
Merlot, Bing cherry, soft tannins, hints of mocha,
the addition of a few other varietals add more acids
and character. A much more powerful Merlot for the
money - all Sonoma fruit.

2006 Poppy Pinot Noir: Raspberry and plum
with
whiffs of kitchen spice and gravelly earth. A
middleweight Pinot, nicely tart, cherry, pomegranate -
a lot more character then I would have envisioned for
the price.

2006 Taft Street Chardonnay: From one of my
favorite
appellations - Russian River. A quintessential Calif.
Chard with butter, toast, vanilla and tropical fruits. It's a
come-back-to-Chardonnay wine.

                    2003 Casa Julia Cabernet Sauvignon
Reserve:
Another winner from Chile, which continues to prove
that great wines can be made inexpensively. Soft and
rich, cedar, oak, vanilla, black fruits all waft from the
glass and finish nicely on the palate. A tasty wine.

Please join us Friday at 5 p.m. Tasting is free

always provide a cheese assortment. Tasting wines
specially priced.

While we don't subscribe to the notion that good
wine

that to
some, it has become that way.

So to make life a bit easier for you, we have

Wines on the rack will range from $7.99 to $12.99,
and as you would expect, all meet our highest
quality
to price ratio.

Because of space limits, we couldn't put all of our

Join Boston Cares for our September Explorations on the Black Heritage Trail. The Black Heritage Trail Tour is roughly 1.6 miles and will be lead by a National Park Service Ranger.

The Black Heritage Trail explores the history of the 19th century free Black community of Boston. The trail consists of 14 sites and begins at the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial on Beacon Street.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the people and places on the North Slope of Beacon Hill associated with the struggle for equal rights both within the city of Boston and in the nation.

The Great Race of Boston - Scavenger Hunt (Quincy Market)

www.thingstodoboston.com

The first ever scavenger hunt/great race around Boston begins at the stroke of noon at Quincy Market. Join us for a day of fun, exercise, creativity, prizes, new friends and more!

How does it work?

1) Upon arrival we will break you into teams. Each team will be given a list of several items to retrieve. The items are all of little or no cost. (Note: not included in the $15)

2) The list will also contain a location where each team must check in by a certain time. Each team should take whatever items it has and proceed to that location by the designated time. If you are late, you lose points. Teams are not expected to retrieve all of the items listed.

3) Throughout the day, at each location, points will be calculated, teams will get a brief time to rest, and teams will be given a different list of items to retrieve and take to the next location. There will be 3 or 4 different check-ins throughout the Boston Area, all of which are near T Stations. At each check-in, teams will be given different scavenger hunt lists.

4) Bonuses are given to the first team to arrive at each respective location. Teams will leave each location in the order in which they arrived. The winning team will be the one that collects the most points. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams.

All teams must use public transportation. Teams caught using personal cars will be disqualified.

Throughout the day, you'll visit many landmarks in Boston, restaurants, schools, theaters, and much much more! There are over 100 items listed and what you see depends upon your team's resolve, speed and ability to have fun!

Please feel free to bring a digital camera to record the day's fun events for yourselves and for our website.

The hunt ends at a popular restaurant with complimentary appetizers and cash bar.

Suggested Attire: Casual - Comfortable shoes

Directions: Meet at the statue of Samual Adams at the entrance to Quincy Market.

Cost: $15.00
if you purchase your ticket by 5 pm Friday, September 5
