One of the of the Internet's leading independent television news websites has an immediate opening for a full-time entertainment news reporter responsible for covering the world of reality television programming.

You must be a reality TV junkie who already watches a large amount of reality TV (both broadcast and cable) for this position. While you'll be tasked with reporting on everything from programming announcements, ratings results and reality TV star news to writing show recaps and conducting interviews with cast members, hosts and producers, all topics will be reality TV related and pre-existing "reality knowledge" is required.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter, grammar expert and natural wordsmith with a journalism degree and at least two years full-time daily newspaper or equivalent reporting experience. Candidates must also be proficient in AP-style news writing and capable of writing quality articles quickly while working with a minimum of supervision or editing. Strong reporting and grammar skills as well as a passion for online journalism are MUSTS.

As an Internet media outlet, this position requires someone who can switch gears quickly when breaking news occurs and handle several tasks simultaneously. Source material will range from press releases, interviews and show broadcasts to noteworthy news initially broken by other media outlets and wire services. Objectivity and the ability to interpret press releases is a must. While this is entertainment news, we pride ourselves on offering our readers knowledgeable industry perspective as well as objective reporting and analysis, not simply public relations propaganda or blog/fansite cheerleading.
