No this does not mean that I am conservative, voted for Bush, or don't know how to have fun: I am none of the above. I am what is called a "progressive Christian" and I am very pluralistic. I love learning about and practicing other types of religion as well, I read the bible symbolically not literally, and I focus more on Jesus' works of social justice and nonviolence than whether or not he was actually God. I think that you just can't simply "believe in Jesus" and all will be fine and dandy. I think that belief is nothing without physically acting and doing something about it! i.e. loving and caring for people... which Jesus practiced night and day! You must be okay with all this, and hopefully understand some of what I am talking about. Preferably, you are also a social justice and peace advocate. You should want to be involved (eventually) with my church and what I do there.. or at least supportive of it!
