The business analyst is the individual who has the primary responsibility to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. The business analyst works in conjunction with the Information Architect (UX) to produce complete system requirements for engineering, quality assurance and release certification. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the analyst’s focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements.

• An understanding of Agile Methodology as it relates to requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices
• An understanding of how to practice requirements engineering over multiple software development life cycles
• Ability to work interactively in a fast paced, team oriented environment
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to proactively identify new product opportunities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

• Work with the product manager to document the product’s vision and the project’s scope
• Identify user classes and document user class characteristics.
• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis to develop stories/scenarios, task and workflow analysis.
• Write requirements specifications according to standard templates
• Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
• Participate in requirements prioritization
• Define requirement attributes and facilitate their use throughout the project.
• Manage requirements traceability and track requirements status throughout the project.
• Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools.
• Propose new product features and updates.

• Bachelors degree required
• Minimum of 6 years experience in a software development organization
