Position Description
The Software QA Engineer, reporting to the QA Manager, works on a team responsible for the testing, both manual and automated, of all software about to go into production. Specific responsibilities include:
• Engaging in the full software testing process, using a mix of manual and automated techniques
• Working with Engineering and Marketing to develop test plans and test cases
• Executing manual and automated test cases and scripts to uncover and isolate defects
• Clearly and concisely documenting issues using our bug-tracking system; communicating same to Engineering
• Testing applications across different configurations
Requirements
• Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle
o Comprehensive knowledge of software testing processes, methodologies and best practices
o Experience testing web-based applications
o Experience testing desktop and rich internet applications
o Experience with automated regression testing
o Comfortable testing across multiple browsers and operating systems, including various versions of IE, Firefox, Safari, on Windows and Mac OS
o Experience with XML and XPATH/XPATH2
o Experience with SQL would be a plus
o Experience with scripting languages used for test automation (e.g., Python) a plus
o Experience with automated testing tools a plus
• Skills:
o Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent command of English
o Ability to write automated testing scripts
o Ability to perform quality assurance with or without formal technical documentation
