Nonsmoker, very light drinker, no drug problems, no emotional problems, no drama. I’m mellow and interesting. I really have no vices. I get my “highs” by skiing down a steep slope (I was skiing this weekend at Sunday River, Maine), or the view from the top of a steep mountain during a hike, or a great meal in an ethnic restaurant.
I’m considered to be an interesting person. I’m an adventurous traveler. Two summers ago I was in Guatemala, backpacking. Prior trips have been to India, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Japan, and elsewhere.
I’m athletic. Double black diamond skier, “four season hiker”, meaning hiking steep mountains even in the winter, with winter mountaineering gear.
I’m well educated, and am an executive in management with a large, well established, private company that is growing despite the economy. With a very good income. I have what amounts to a lifetime employment contract. Our company is spread throughout the New England states and down to Manhattan, so as a result there’s no central office and I work from home. I work from home maybe half the week, and otherwise am on the road. I’m out of town on business overnight on the average of one night per week, and am often gone on weeekends (I belong to a ski club in NH).
I prefer house sharing to renting an apt for a number of reasons. I’d prefer to be in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. I’m away a lot anyway, either at my ski club in NH, or on trips, or traveling for business. And I get along with everyone. I prefer a house, not an apartment. Some condos might be fine. , I would like a back yard, deck, etc. I like to cook and bar b que. I'm looking for long term, but prefer not to rent an apt which would require a one year lease, becuase though there's no on in the picture now, what if I find a great mate and we want to live together elsewhere?
I am respectful of others and am reasonably neat but not obsessive. I pick up after myself, and am happy to help with chores around the house.
My needs: Reasonably close to highways (495 and Mass Pike). My ideal would be North Framingham, Marlborough, Westborough, Hopkinton, or that area. WITHIN 495 or west of it but putside of 495, then very close. A larger than average room (no matter how great the house, for example 10 x 12 or 12 x 12 won't suit my needs), Either a VERY large bedroom that would also fit my 6 ft desk and a low, lateral file cabinet, or a second room for my office, which can be small. NOT a basement--I like light. SOME room for storage, in a garage or basement. A good sized closet, or use of several closets. A well kept, comfortable house. Sorry to be picky, but this is what I need. Kept reasonably warm in winter (sorry, if you’re frugal and keep it at 62 so we have to wear sweaters, that’s not what I want). Decent cell phone reception. The use of common areas. .
I’m a good cook and would be pleased to share some meals, OR if you prefer, I would keep to myself.
I love all animals but am allergic to cats. Dogs are no problem, if anything a plus. If you want I’ll walk your dog and play with him/her/them. I often take my ex wife’s dog hiking.
Kids are fine so long as there’s no problem with my having an occasional overnight guest of the opposite sex.
I'm a normal, healthy male. On rare occasion I would like to be able to bring home an ACCEPTABLE female companion. Of course, NOT to move in or for extended periods of time.
I am switching schools to the Weston area and need a place to live for the upcoming summer/school year. I need to live fairly close to the D Line (Green Line) or a bus route that takes me there. I have a car at home in CA that I'm willing to bring out here if someone awesome needs a roomate in the Newton area and isn't closer to the T. Looking for a place to live end of April-beginning of May
I am posting this so early because I am a RELIABLE/ORGANIZED person, looking for a place to live where tennants are the same. I have a reliable income working for a chiropractor in Newton, and I will not be around much since I will be busy with work/friends/school/commuting.
Here's what I don't mind:
-a bedroom that's quiet on weeknights
-a bathroom that I will get occasional help cleaning
-normal and semi-social professionals/students/married people/whatever
-paying my rent on time
-living with a family
-security deposit if necessary
-helping with cleaning elsewhere in the house
-having some room in the fridge
-internet (ethernet or wireless, of course willing to split the cost)
-pets that are cleaned up after by their owners
-roomates of opposite gender (I'm female)
-chatting
Here's what I do mind:
-drugs (definitely a dealbreaker)
-smoking cigs indoors
-creepers/potential murderers/roomates with non-traffic criminal records
-unresonably loud people
-slobs
-bugs
-people who don't pay their bills
-shady deals
-sharing a bedroom (sorry, it's a no-go)
-paying more than $800/month AFTER utilities
