PROGRAM: Day Education

POSITION: Director of Day Education



Bring your leadership & supervisory skills to GWArc to enhance our employment program. GWArc serves persons with intellectual & developmental disabilities in person-centered day programming.



The Director of Day Education Programs is responsible for the overall design, management, supervision and effectiveness of GWArc's Day Education Programs (Day Habilitation and Pathways To Independence). The Program Director will develop and implement all necessary administrative systems, staff supports and community resources to deliver programs which reflect GWArc's mission, policies and procedures including individualized supports and instructional strategies which maximize each participants' personal care, communication, social, motor, work and community inclusion skills. The Program Director is responsible for the daily operations, day to day management and program development of GWArc's Day Education and Pathways to Independence programs.



QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor's Degree is required with 5 years progressive experience in direct care services to people with significant developmental and physical disabilities. 2 years supervisory/management experience. Excellent organizational, communication, leadership skills and team building skills. Commitment to community inclusion consumer self determination. Experience in a Day Habilitation setting and familiarity with MassHealth, DDS, and CARF regulations and requirements.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of MR/DD population and community service system. Car & license, computer literacy, CPR & First Aid and non-violent behavioral intervention.


SALARY RANGE: $50,000+ depending on qualifications.


WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours+, salaried position, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with evening hours.
