Mission
ITNGreaterBoston™ is a new 501 (C) 3 organization, part of the Independent Transportation Network®, the first and only national non-profit transportation system for America's aging population. Founder Katherine Freund launched ITNAmerica in 1995 to empower seniors and the visually impaired to continue to live full lives on their own terms after they stop driving. This affordable, consumer-oriented, economically sustainable transportation alternative ensures that all members are able to travel as often as possible to destinations of their choice without worrying about inconveniencing others.

Responsibilities
Manage Volunteer Driver Force 80 %
Volunteer drivers, properly recruited, trained and motivated provide the critical resource for ITNGreater Boston™ to offer a below-market priced service, 24/7 grounded by exceptional customer service and compassion. Responsibilities are:
1) Recruit volunteer drivers through diverse sources, including print, media, online and word of mouth; conduct targeted recruitment to fill gaps as necessary; collaborate with other volunteer and transportation-related agencies to build recruitment partnerships
2) Assess each volunteer driver applicant carefully and thoroughly to ensure that they meet all requirements including
• Background and criminal checks
• Ability to work with seniors
• Recommendations
• Driving skills
• Insurance
3) Create all forms, documents and training manual using tools from other Affiliates
4) Train volunteer drivers per policy handbook at hire with refresher training in fundamentals after 6 months
5) Conduct spot checks on vehicle up-keep and cleanliness
6) Conduct trip checks on customer service quality, working closely with Operations Manager
7) Hold monthly touch-in sessions at times convenient to volunteers to ensure that they remain committed and happy
8) Working closely with ED, plan and execute annual Volunteer Appreciation event
9) Act as supervisors for all volunteers and serve as the liaison between volunteers and paid staff

Manage Other Volunteers 20 %
Ensure that other volunteers supporting the mission are properly trained, deployed and overseen. Responsibilities are:
1) Recruit 10-15 volunteers who are regularly available per office to help with administrative, fund-raising and office tasks
2) Ensuring that all volunteers are adequately oriented to the mission and goals of the organization
3) Ensuring that each volunteer is assigned tasks that they fully understand and are capable of completing successfully
4) Manage group projects so that team-work, work-quality and deadlines are important
5) Manage volunteer pool size to meet capacity needs of the organization

• Fast learner ready to team with Operations Manager to build strong Volunteer pool
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Take charge attitude with proven prioritization ability
• Adaptable, versatile and ready to roll up sleeves

• Loves to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with change the norm

• Ability to train, motivate and evaluate volunteers
