This is obviously a sore subject on CL. I figured i would put my two cents in. In response to the post that states : "wouldn't it make you feel better knowing that their are state regulations?"

I personally do not need the government to tell me what environment is safe or not safe for my children, So no. this doesn't make me feel better. I'm working and going to school right now so my children are in the care of a SAHM. I've put them in a licensed daycare and realized that although their day was very structured...they would completely lose it once they were home, because I feel they were overwhelmed and overstimulated. Now they are in the care of this lovely lady who also happens to have become a best friend. Yup. that;s right. Becuase she doesn't watch X amount of kids to meet her quota for the month, she has time to talk to me when i pick up my children.

No matter where you take your children it is your responsibilty to make sure it is safe. a license does not guarantee that and if that is the extent of your inquiry then it's just not good enough. and that license, doesn't guarantee that the provider is a good person. it just manages to say that if they are bad...they haven't been caught yet. so bottom line in my book: LEAVE THE PARENTING TO THE PARENTS. for generations mothers have helped each other. now is defanitely not the time to stop.

She is pretty independent and requires very little to be happy. She is very easy going but She doesn't speak so it gets tricky, but after some time you will get to understand her needs. Your job will be to get her off the school bus which arrives around 2:40pm. Although I would require you to be at my home no later than 2:35pm just to be safe.

It is not going to be a lot of hours it is ideal for a high school student looking to earn extra cash.

I usually don't do this but seriously if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. The couple metioned they are working with the IVF doctor and they will confirm the pregnancy (who I am sure is also advising them on all the prenatal care needed when going through IVF obviously) but is looking for a recommendation from someone who had a great experience with their doctor when it comes to actually being pregnant. Anyone can call up and get any doctor who has an available appointment .... but getting just the right one takes a little research and could make a world of difference to the experience.

Maybe instead of posting a "know it all" "im better then you" post you could offer up your congratulations in a nice email to them with your wishes that they have a healthy pregnancy if they in fact do become pregnant. This is a sensitive subject already seeing this couple may not be lucky enough to become pregnant right away! She is most likely taking care of her body more than most woman before they get pregnant. She is one who knows she is trying so she is able to prepare her body from the begining. A good amount of woman don't realize they are pregnant till they take a test because they weren't trying (take me for example i was on a full course of depo, a BC you can't mess up, and became pregnant- it happens) and my child (a complete blessing) is prefectly fine and I did not start prenatal till I was almost 8wks seeing I did not know I was pregnant.

So to this couple going through IVF --- GOOD LUCK and hopefully a CONGRATULATIONS very soon!
