condition and the finish is all original. It was made by Brandt in the 30s. It
is 29" tall. The top tier is 17" in diameter and the bottom tier is 25" in
diameter. This is a very nice piece from the thirties.

This is a very nice 48" round table. The table is 36" high rather than the
normal 30" high. It has a self contained leaf, shown in the picture below,
that extends the table to 65". It comes with 4 leather like chairs that are
the correct height for the table. The finish and the chairs are all in
excellent condition. There is a drawer for storage in the base again shown in
the pictures below.

This is a nice table for an apartment as it is only 48" round in its
unexpanded position and extends to 65" when necessary for entertaining. The
storage in the base is also a nice feature.

The glass top is very well made heavy piece of beveled glass with a slight smoky tint to it.
The base has a slight stone finish to it but it has a heavy sturdy laminate coated layer over the structure.

Top piece has 2 open shelves and then a 2 door section with 2 internal shelves and inside of back of top portion has push pin backing for notes, pictures, etc. Bottom right section has 3 drawers, one for files. Includes a retractable keyboard tray. Unit would need to be picked up, currently base is unassembled and would need some reinforcement upon reassembling. Oval, beveled glass mirror 31" x 21" - $60. Bevel is about 3/4 an inch wide. Mirror is in excellent condition. It would be great for a bathroom. The style is very Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware.

> Cane paneled seat and back
> Open cut scrolled and curved arm rests
> Measures 39 inches tall x 31 inches deep from front to back tip of rocker x 21 inches wide across the seat, with a 19 inch seat depth from front to back of the seat
> Weighs 16 pounds
> Armrests are a bit loose but chair is otherwise solid and sturdy

CONDITION: Chair is old, and shows general signs of aging, but age and maker are unknown. Black surface is all original and still 95% or more intact. Gilt and handpainting are faded but still visible and quite beautiful. Cane back and seat panels are in excellent condition, with no broken or separated pieces. A few of the cane strips have curled and raised about 1/2 inch high from flat at the front seat edge, but the ends are still attached and tucked in.

> Chair is medium to small sized, measuring 35 inches tall x 26 deep from front to back tip of rocker x 16.5 inches wide across the seat, with a 16 inch seat depth from front to back of the seat
> Weighs 10 pounds
> Chair and all joints are solid and sturdy, without wobble.
> Chair features mortise & tenon joinery, which is in overall excellent, strong condition, and what appear to be original old metal L brackets reinforcing the back seat underside to back rail joints.
> Chair has straight tapered front legs and curved tapered back legs securely joined to the rocker pieces at the bottom
> Chair back has a curved bentwood top piece and four straight vertical back support pieces
> Cane seat is in excellent condition, with no broken or separated pieces
> Chair is made of oak, which has aged beautifully, with lovely dark grain detail.

> CONDITION: There is a minor 1 inch split on the front toe of one the right rocker piece. Chair appears to have had two screws replaced or added to reinforce the back seat to back rails, as the screw heads look newer than the rest of the chair. Underside of one of the rocker pieces has a minor old insect chew trail on the outer surface.

> MANUFACTURER HISTORY: This chair was made in Gardner, MA, which was known as Chair City for its many furniture craftsmen. One of them was Steven Taylor, who established a handmade chair shop in Gardner in 1830. Soon thereafter, Taylor sold the business to the Pierce brothers (Jonas Pierce II and Sylvester K. Pierce). Sylvester K. Pierce became the sole owner and ran the business until his death in 1888, passing it on to his son, Frank Pierce, who continued the business until its closure in 1937.
