This blues open mic started on 3-15-09, and is held in the "front room" on Sundays. We had James Montgomery as the feature on 3-22 and had a great crowd! Like any new open mic, we're going to see how things go and adjust accordingly but as of now here's how it works: Bruce Marshall (guitar, dobro, voice) and Lisa Marie (vocals) do a duo set to get things going from 7-8, then a predetermined featured performer plays from 8-8:45, either solo or with others of their choosing. The last set is open mic, usually 2 songs per act. If there are a lot of sign ups, we can work some players into the 1st set as well. We don't have room for full drum kits but smaller percussion is fine, there's no house piano and bass players should bring a small amp. Bruce and Lisa Marie are happy to accompany anyone that requests it. There is a $5 cover charge and the featured performer gets the tip jar. The Stagecoach is a charming old Inn with lot's of ambiance and charm, good food and sit's in the heart of pretty downtown Groton.
