Requirements:
-BS Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
-Minimum of 5 years experience in CNC programming of machining centers required

Manufacturing Engineer will be a member of the new product development team with the responsibility of ensuring that design for manufacturability, test and service requirements are developed, implemented and validated. This position will also be a member of the new product introduction (NPI) team with the responsibility of introducing new products to manufacturing. In addition, this position will perform continuous improvement, sustaining engineering functions, and provide technical support to product repair and certified calibration laboratory team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to communicate, persuade and engage with a variety of work groups such as production, engineering as well as finance and customer service.
Work with design engineering to ensure design for manufacturability, design for test, and design for service requirements are developed, implemented and validated.
Introduce new products to production
Develop detailed test documentation to be used by production.
Design and structure the manufacturing work flows for new products.
Be able to justify and determine make/buy decisions for manufacturing processes.
Develop detailed work instructions for assembly builds.
Assist in test development for PCB assemblies.
Train manufacturing staff on assembly and test.
Validate and record results of all build and test processes through the manufacturing engineering pilot run.
Maintain all engineering documentation through the ERN and ECN processes.
Investigate product failures and determine the appropriate corrective actions as outlined in our Quality Standard Operating Procedures.
Perform FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and develop diagnostic aids for repair processes.
Participate in continuous improvement for manufacturing processes.
Work with Supply Chain to qualify and approve CM suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Four-year engineering degree required.
Must be a self-motivated, organized and strong communicator.
Outsourcing experience in managing contract manufacturers (CMs) is highly desirable.
Must be able to work independently, coach direct reports, and work collaboratively with other departments to achieve project goals and milestones.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality improvement methods.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with SAP ERP system
Must be able to interpret electrical schematics and block diagrams.

Candidate must have direct, current experience with the properties of available plastics and potting compounds. Fluency with CAD software and experience in generating CAD databases for production is required. Recent experience with automotive and/or marine electronics is highly desirable.
