Part-Time Education Director for the Orpheum Theatre Foxboro
The Orpheum Theater Foxboro has been home to high quality theatrical productions and events since 1926. In addition to great drama and musical productions, the theater offers film festivals, comedy shows, educational classes, and a great kids program, Orpheum Kids, which offers affordable programs and events for children and their parents.
The education department offers youth classes year round to grades Kindergarten through High School as well as adult classes. Classes offer a variety of opportunities to explore the many aspects of the theatre and performing arts.
Youth programs include theatre, voice, piano, and dance
Adult programs include voice, piano, tap dance, and ballet
The Education Director will be the face of the Foxboro Orpheum education department. Key responsibilities will be recruiting and enrolling students in available education classes and coordinating and expanding the education program offerings. The Education Director will not have any responsibilities for facilitating adult or youth classes.
The ideal candidate loves education and the performing arts and is a skilled promoter. This friendly, outgoing, and personable individual will be able to work within the Foxboro community and surrounding towns to promote the education programs at The Orpheum Theatre Foxboro. The candidate will be creative and be able to recruit and network effectively to fill all classes with a small marketing budget.
PC, Excel and Word skills are essential. Creative design skills would be helpful.
The current class schedule is:
Tuesday 3:30 – 7:45
Wednesday 3:30 – 7:45
Thursday 3:45 – 7:15
Saturday 8:45 – 11:45
This is a $15 per hour, 20 hour per week position. If available classes are filled and more classes are added then the number of hours worked could increase.
