Print from 1930s Calendar Hoisting Crane: General Electric Print (Watertown, MA) $8

Rare and unsual print from the 1930s. This is a hoisting crane that lifts huge machines.

During the 1930s and 1940s, General Electric published calendars with artwork advertising the wide variety of their products as well as memorializing their more famous researchers, engineers and scientists. They made electrical products ranging from lightbulbs to radios to diesel electric locomotives to electric turbines for warships. GE employed first rate artists to illustrate these calendars. A bit of trivia; Thomas Edison was one of the founders of General Electric.

This print was cut from a 1930s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "A GIANT CRANE TO LIFT HUGE MACHINES". The artist is Harold M. Mott-Smith, who did many fine paintings for General Electric. You can get more information about him by doing a search on Google; Harold M. Mott-Smith.

The picture area is 10 x 13 inches.

The condition is excellent; no color shift or fading. It looks nearly new but it's over 70 years old.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. I have other prints which I'll be selling.
“Distilling the concept of a chandelier down to a single queue of exquisitely cut Swarovski® crystal pendants, the Cellula is dramatic without being fussy or overbearing. The design refracts the light of nine bulbs through numerous shapes and sizes of full-leaded, faceted crystal. Over a century old, Swarovski is the leader in precision-cut crystal, which has much higher refractive index than standard glass, offering a more sparkling glow. The quality of light is bright and warm, appropriate for lighting and entryway or over a dining table. The crystals can be arranged as desired, simply by shifting them from groove to groove along the aluminum rod. The design is anchored by a clear cord, flanked by two thin steel cables. Bulbs (included): nine 15W candelabra torpedos.”

An electrical substation is a subsidiary station of an electricity generation, transmission and distribution system where voltage is transformed from high to low or the reverse using transformers.

You drive past them today without noticing them, but in the 1930s, bringing electric power to every home was a huge development.

This print was cut from a 1930s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "UNIT SUBSTATION". The artist is Harold Mott-Smith, who did many fine paintings for General Electric.

The picture area is 10 x 13 inches.

The condition is excellent; no color shift or fading. It looks nearly new but it's over 70 years old.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. I have other prints which I'll be selling.

We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies. ~Pablo Picasso

I'm an artist who specializes in graphite pencil medium, that is looking to expand my portfolio. I have about 25 years of experience in the art. At the moment my portfolio mostly includes hip hop artists, and celebrity portraits. I’m currently working on a life-size series of rap stars. I would like to expand and include a more diverse subject matter, such as personal portraits, athletes, couples, wedding photos, children, etc.
I can work from pretty much any size picture as long as its not really small. The quality of the picture is most important, the crisper it is, the more shading I can put into the final piece.

As for prices I’m willing to work with people but it all depends on the size of the work .

I do prefer doing larger works and have done 6 foot tall pictures, as my examples show, so anything’s game.

All my work is award winning, show quality, and you can expect the same in everything I produce. I can complete my works fairly quickly but do allow 2 to 3 weeks to bring each exquisite detail to life.
I am at your service at 970.624.9139

Want a unique gift to give to that special mother-to-be! These dipper cakes are a great focal point at any baby shower. Cakes can be made for a boy, girl, or the kept secrete. Cakes range from formal and sophisticated to fun and whimsical.

The cake featured below was constructed of 208 generic dippers. The four layer cake, decorations, and sayings card is $75. The three layer with the same accents is $50. The price will go up or down depending on the layers, type of decorations, and dippers chosen (generic, pampers,or cloth). I am just starting out so my portfolio is small but let me assure you that you will be very satisfied with the finished product. I pay much attention to detail and am a very creative person. I can send a schematic of the idea for reassurance.

Cakes take around 1 week to make so please place orders about 2 weeks in advance. You can reach me, Nicole, at n1h1b1@aol.com with any questions.
I purchased this poster for my baby nursery. It arrived with a very slight crease on the bottom from when it was rolled for shipment. While I'm 95% sure it would iron out when dry mounted, I paid $40 for the poster and wanted one in pristine condition. They sent me a new one, but told me to keep the old. You could now get it for a great price! We both win!

Golden Gate International Exposition: General Electric Print (Watertown, MA) $10

In the 1930s & 40s, outdoor nightime electrical illumination evolved from just functional to part of architectural design.

This print was cut from a 1940s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "PAINTED WITH LIGHT BY GENERAL ELECTRIC". It shows a fountain at the Golden Gate International Exposition (San Francisco 1939 & 1940).

The picture area is 10 x 13 inches.

The condition is excellent; no color shift or fading. It looks nearly new but it's over 70 years old.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. I have other prints which I'll be selling.
In the Great Depression era of the 1930s & 40s, floursecent illumination was a new and economical way to light large commercial - industrial spaces.
During the 1930s and 1940s, General Electric published calendars with artwork advertising the wide variety of their products as well as memorializing their more famous researchers, engineers and scientists. A bit of trivia; Thomas Edison was one of the founders of General Electric.

This print was cut from a 1940s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "FLOURESCENT LIGHTING FOR INDUSTRY". It shows the printing room of a magazine publisher lit by flourescent lights. The artist is Harold M. Mott-Smith. The number '40 is next to the signature. Mott-Smith did many fine paintings for General Electric.
Night View Of Mt. Vernon Memorial Highway: General Electric Print (Watertown, MA) $8

This print was cut from a 1930s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "A PATH OF LIGHT TO A NATIONAL SHRINE". It shows a 1930s view of the Mt. Vernon Momorial Highway highway which goes from Washington DC to Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington. The artist is Harold M. Mott-Smith. Mott-Smith did many fine paintings for General Electric. If you Google his name, you'll get more information about him.

The picture area is 10 x 13 inches.

The condition is excellent; no color shift or fading. It looks nearly new but it's over 70 years old.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. I have other prints which I'll be selling.

During the Depression, it was not unusual to portray the working man in an almost heroic way.

During the 1930s and 1940s, General Electric published calendars with artwork advertising the wide variety of their products. They made electrical products ranging from lightbulbs to radios to diesel electric locomotives to electric turbines for warships. GE employed first rate artists to illustrate these calendars.

This print was cut from a 1930s General Electric calendar and is titled: "FABRICATING A TRANSFORMER TANK WITH ARC WELDING ". The artist is Harold M. Mott-Smith, who did many fine illustrations for General Electric.

This is a superb, dramatic view of a welder.

The picture area is 10 x 13 inches.

The condition is excellent; no visible fading or color shift.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. The print looks nearly new, but it is in fact over 70 years old!

Please check out my other fine General Electric prints.
