Forget the Mustang and the Camaro...get something truly unique. It has a deep red paint job with purple flames up the front nose and fenders, custom dash, and more. It has custom flamed pedals and the flames light up (looks classy, not tacky). All converted to 12 Volt electrical so no headaches like most old cars.
It runs really good as a cruiser but it still has original non-power steering and non-power brakes so it drives just like an old car in that aspect. No rust or rot other than a couple of very small surface rust spots...a couple on the front grill and one on the top of the driver's fender where it meets the hood. That one has been touched up by the previous owner and it hasn't gotten any worse since I've owned it so it's barely even noticeable.
It also has a 318 V8, custom dual exhaust that has a nice rumble to it, stainless steel rolled edge tips, rear adjustable air shocks, a 3 speed automatic transmission, V shaped air vent in front of the windshield that looks really cool, custom dash with white faced gauges, custom interior with matching headliner and it looks awesome! There is a 15 gallon fuel cell in the trunk and a new fuel pump/fuel lines. Always starts right up without any problem but it does need a few things to be a $30,000 car again. It needs new windshield wipers (tough to find), gas and oil pressure gauges aren't working for some reason and it has some minor oil leaks at the valve covers and at the oil pan but those are cheap fixes. I have the original front bumper as well but I think the car looks better without it. If you put a few thousand dollars into this car it would easily be a $30K car once again. I drive this from Fitchburg to Boston once in a while and never have any problems. It's a great car for the price.
