171: mccarthy - email blacklist?
Updated Thu, Jul 24 - 13:01 PDT
Email bounce messages that say something like: "x.y.z is blacklisted" mean your mailserver got blacklisted for excessive spam. Unless you're a spammer :-) let us know at the help desk or by mail from a different account to postmaster@craigslist.org. Please remember to include the "x.y.z is blacklisted" line. (Please don't send general help requests to postmaster, they will likely be ignored. Send general help requests to help@craigslist.org)

242: redemption - verification word not appearing in some browsers
Updated Mon, Jul 14 - 14:02 PDT
Users reporting trouble posting with default Blackberry browser and WebTV

Seems to be related to a lack of javascript and/or iframe support.

We're working the recaptcha folks to find a fix, thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, Blackberry users are encouraged to try Opera Mini, which works very well with the verification word.

180: size matters? - users can't complete post, may be due to image size

we're getting reports like these:

  • "I get post all filled out, then upload my pics, then press the continue button, it takes a very long time, then the page comes up error"

212: bzt fzz *pop* - OMG WHERZ MAH POWERZ
Updated Sat, Jul 28 - 13:01 PDT
At approximately 1:45PM 7/23 the 365 Main San Francisco data center experienced a massive power outage. Power to our server array, which is located in this facility, was interrupted several times.

Our tech team worked for many hours to restore full functionality to the site. It turns out that database servers don't like to have the electricity switched on and off at random intervals. We had the site in read-only mode for a long stretch during the outage.

As of 1:01AM we went read/write, and as of 1:12AM we're cautiously optimistic we get to go to bed soon.
